The Blue Drop Cafè – Hot Chocolate or Coffee

The Blue Drop Cafè:

Today on Menu: Hot Chocolate or Coffee

Two hot drinks, restaurants, comforting: dark and enveloping.
But with a totally different taste. From the consistency and also from the different potentials.

When you drink coffee: always, summer and winter, it gives us a boost and makes us work. It acts on the nervous system and activates it.

When do you drink hot chocolate? Especially when it’s cold, in the afternoon for a nice snack, perhaps when snow or rain is raging outside.

Cocoa is good for the mood, activates all those molecules of “happiness”.

Coffee loads us up but makes us even more nervous. Cocoa makes us feel more pampered.

Which one do you prefer?

Luis Mendelez "Still Life with Chocolate Service "

Vincent Van Gogh "Still Life with Coffee Pot",1888

Do you prefer a hot chocolate, as in the work of Luis Mendelez, a Spanish painter?

Which was famous for a detailed, courteous, refined and also very elegant style. In the work you can see the consistency of the cocoa beans and the roughness of the biscuits, ready to be titled

Even the colors surrounding the scene seem to recall the olfactory and gustatory dimension of the subject: a warm brown, a white tablecloth, no other reference to the surrounding environment

Or a cup of coffee with the master Van Gogh? That in its unique style, this work is also quite realistic. No flickering lines, no particular colors, no emotional references. Just a nice table set and a coffee at the end of the meal with fruit.
Only radiant elements in an attempt to make the folds of the tablecloth.

So, let’s tell me: Hot Chocolate or Coffee?
